This is a little round-up of a few projects i’ve been working on lately….
1. Pumpkin soup for Parentdish
I made this delicious seasonal soup which went down a total treat with the boys. They normally refuse to eat any soup apart from tinned cream of tomato – certainly not home made. So I was totally blown away when they hoovered this up.
I think it’s down to the sweetness of the pumpkin and coconut milk. You can find the recipe on Parentdish.
2. Spooky spider chocolate cupcakes
If you’re having a party for Halloween, it’s fun to have something a bit creepy on offer, so I came up with these little blighters.
They’re pretty straightforward to make, and despite their creepy crawly looks the liquorice and chocolate combo is a total winner. If you fancy giving them a go, you can find the recipe on Parentdish.
3. Orange in the kitchen (sponsored post)
And finally, if you’re a fan of the colour orange, find out about the pros and cons of introducing it into your kitchen in my article on The Orange Blog…
Soup looks lovely, I too made it a couple of times (spicy with coriander) – it IS a really delicious meal! Great that your boys loved it! (My 15 y.o. son hates the tomato soup out of the tin though).
Oh, and the cupcakes- they do look creepy, kids will love them, of course, I would not be able to touch them! You can tell, I am not a particular spider lover!
Glad you’re a fellow fan of the pumpkin soup… there’s something particularly creepy about the liquorice legs of those spiders….
Thanks for links to the recipes will have to give them a go when I have got my confidence back after my attempt at hobnobs (which usually goes well -lol) decided to fight back my hubby was on duty (hes in the fire service) nearly had to call him – oops :-).
Hehe that made me chuckle – I’m notorious with burning stuff under the grill – it’s only got two settings – mega hi or mega low – so the smoke alarms are always going off! Impressed you make hobnobs – yum!
