    This Thursday just gone, my wonderful boyfriend became my wonderful husband but Valentines Day is also extra special for us because it’s the day that we actually met so this year, since it’s our first one as husband and wife, I’m going to do nothing and act like any other day, sending him to his friend’s house in the morning and recreating how we met while he’s out (arts and crafts is not my strong point so it will look awful but hopefully be obvious what I was trying to do). I’ve been hand-writing some of the nicest things we said to one another over email whilst we were living in different countries so they can be stuck up on the walls around the house along with all the saved tickets from trips we took and some of the best photos of us together. He has a really sweet tooth as well so in the evening when he gets back, we’re bypassing dinner in favour of Strawberry Hearts, (only the most perfectly shaped strawberries, halved and the flat edged dipped in dark chocolate and honey, chilled for several hours) and a bottle of pink champagne, the same as we had with our wedding toast and finally a hand-rub for him with my very best hand cream since his hands are always really dry and he loves being pampered but would never admit it and ask for one!

    Well…I don’t have a “Significant Other” at this moment in time. Therefore, I will be turning my attention to my gorgeous 7 year old son spending the day with him (it’s half term = bonus!) We’ll probably spend the day baking heart shaped jam shortbread sandwich biscuits, and heart shaped jam tarts. Then, it’s off to the cinema to see the Star Wars film in 3D!!     Well I’m not normally big on Valentine’s Day but we’ve had such a tough time lately that I thought I’d get my act together this year. So I have this baking book and in it is the most delicious looking cake – it’s chocolate and is in the shape of a box and in it you place actual chocolates. So that’s my aim, to make a beautiful box of chocolates with an edible box and beautifully decorated with ribbon.

    It’s his birthday just before Valentine’s day and we always make rather more of a fuss of that (short theatre break away, nice meal etc). So valentine’s day is at risk of being a bit of an anticlimax (especially as we are a couple of Old marrieds).     Oops, no spoiling going on in our house I’m afraid :O Hubby is working nights, but I will have the lovely company of our 4 children, but I’m guessing the boys (age 14 & 15) wont leave their room & the girls (aged 11 & 12) will be arguing over whats on TV/xbox. Life is such fun :))

    Well my husband is a leap year babe born on the 29th of Feb and so whenever it’s a leap year we combine valentines day and birthday. We have booked a week off work and will travel but we will be looking for last minute bargains.

    For my wife and I’s 1st Valentine’s Day celebrations this year, we’re going to enjoy a hot-air balloon ride over my home city of Edinburgh with a celebratory glass of champagne to mark the occasion. Further adding to the uniqueness of this special memory, I’ll have a candle-lit dinner with roses and yet more champagne ready at home and let’s just say my lady will be very, very happy. Memories will be made of this.

    Well we go on holiday on Feb 16th for the first time in 2 years so Valentines day will be a cheap one we will probably watch a film and i will make my fiance his favorite meal and we will just cuddle up and enjoy being together!

    totally lost my sex drive since my son was born 4 years ago. So im going to try and get a sexy mood by making a romantic meal served with champagne and strawberries. Yesterday I bought a sexy bedtime/funtime number so im going to go upstairs and change into something a bit more comfortable! and tell him to follow me in 15 minutes. When he comes up im going to concentrate on giving him a little pleasure and a thankyou for been so patient over the last 4 years.
