This easy burger relish uses the simplest of store cupboard ingredients to make a cracking finishing touch to your barbecue.
A delicious grilled beef burger is the blank canvas for all manner of treats and toppers, so I opted for earthy beetroot and punchy horseradish for a great flavour match.
The beauty of this recipe is that you can rustle a jar of burger relish up in five minutes, so if your barbecue was a last minute affair that’s not a problem. Simply chop all the ingredients, toss together and fling into a pretty jar. Instant culinary brownie points.
Why not fry up a few eggs and bang them in the bun with the burger and beet relish? New Zealand folk are well-known for their love of this combo, and they’re a trustworthy bunch of foodies those Kiwis.
