Feel better and whizz up this vibrant green smoothie full of fruit and vegetable greatness…
Sometimes when you galavant around too much and act like you’re 21 and not *coughs* 41, your body likes to give you a bit of reminder to get back into line. After a long weekend in London at a Food Blogger conference I was running on empty and then developed the mother of all headaches. Not just a bit of a sore head, but a proper I needed to take to my bed and close the blinds type blinder. Oucho.
So in a fit of desperation I raided my frozen fruit supply and turned to my trusty power blender, the Optimum Froothie 9400 to create this vivid green smoothie that would soothe my throbbing brow. And yes, it definitely improved matters. I’ve now pledged to try and start my days with one of these for breakfast, as I reckon i’ll be able to achieve superhuman things after drinking one 😉
Get-Well-Soon Green Smoothie
Serves: 2
Prep time: 5 mins
Ingredients
120g frozen banana chunks
85g frozen mango chunks
60g fresh spinach
300ml cloudy apple juice
Method
Put all of your ingredients into a power blender and blitz until smooth. Adjust the amount of liquid depending on how thick you like your smoothie. If you don’t have a power blender use fresh ingredients instead of frozen so you don’t break it!
Disclosure: I’m an ambassador for the Optimum Froothie range of blenders and there is an affiliate link in this post. If you’re thinking about investing in a power blender, or perhaps asking for one for Christmas, read my review of the Optimum Froothie 9400. It’s completely amazing and I use mine every day… fact!

I’ve been holding back from green smoothies lately as I found a big blob of spinach that made me gag in one yak. Clearly this would never happen in a Froothie….!!!
Love the fabulous colour, I feel healthier just looking at it!
