While December is full of festive excess, January is generally when we try and undo all of the damage we’ve done to our bodies. Whether it’s a fitness kick, alcohol detox or just trying to eat more fruit and veg, it’s definitely the month for turning over a new leaf. So it was timely that the team at Lean Greens Food Supplements sent us some of their range to try out, along with a 21 day Nutrition Plan.
What is the 21 Day Nutrition Plan?
The Plan aims to make you feel energised, de-bloated and slimmer, but they stress that it’s not a diet. It’s a way of kick starting better habits and giving bad ones the old heave ho. The booklet has three weekly meal plans, matching shopping lists, batch cooking and recipe ideas too. Here’s a few examples of the kind of things you’ll be eating:
Breakfast: Poached Eggs on Toast
Lunch: Fajita Spiced Chicken
Dinner: Pesto Turkey Burgers with Sweet Potato Chips
The plan emphasises eating at regular intervals, getting plenty of sleep and drinking 1.5 litres of water per day. There are suggestions of what you can snack on, and the kind of meals to aim for if you’re eating out.
Sounds like a very healthy and realistic approach, plus 21 days doesn’t feel like too long either.

What does it taste like?
I was a bit nervous about drinking a green liquid. Would I just drink it on its own or mix it up with some juice to make it taste nicer. Well we tried it straight up, and yes it looks like swamp water and the smell is quite strong, but once you’re drinking it, it’s pretty neutral to be honest. It’s not something you’re going to be savouring, but as a health supplement you can easily just drink it down. Apparently the taste improves when you drink it regularly.
How often do you have it?
Apparently it’s best to take it first thing. Each morning mix some cold water with a scoop of Lean Greens to keep your cravings under control for the rest of the day. No more mid-morning munchies, or that afternoon slump. They’re so confident that it’s going to do you some good that they offer a 60 Day Guarantee – even if you don’t like the taste.
Feeding Boys Verdict?
We’re all for improving our bodies in the Feeding Boys household, especially after the indulgences of December that always leave us feeling horribly toxic. Matthew’s super keen to have it every morning to kickstart his digestive system after being on so many painkillers for his back.
We also gave the Trim Formula a whirl, a lactose free protein powder which is perfect for a post-workout boost. It’s smooth and chocolatey, so a far tastier proposition. It also comes in handy sachets that you can take to the gym, so you don’t need one of those gargantuan pots clogging up your kitchen. It’s currently priced at £30 for 20 sachets – so it’s a bit of an investment.
They have a pretty impressive set of positive reviews on Amazon, which is a good sign if you’re nervous about forking out for something you’ve not tried before.
Where can I find out more?
Check out www.leangreens.com for the latest deals, it costs £45 for 33 days supply, but their subscription service seems pretty flexible, so you an easily change the date and the frequency of your delivery. You can also find it over on Amazon where they have some impressive customer reviews.
